Award-winning sculptor Mark Beattie creates abstract works skillfully manipulating a variety of metals to form mesmerising sculptures that range in size from miniature to monumental. Beattie has laboriously and impressively developed a signature style of sculpture featuring a fascination with spheres and circles from childhood, with each piece containing movement and emanating fluidity. His orb-like sculptures provide a sense of harmony in both indoor and outdoor spaces, particularly his works involving neon or LED, which confidently merge art with design and an architectural aesthetic with functionality.
Mark has had a remarkable career so far, winning the Midlands Open and the Xerxes Sculpture Prize in 2015, and in the same year, being elected to the Royal Society of Sculptors (MRSS). He has exhibited extensively in both solo and group shows, art fairs, art festivals and alongside some of contemporary art’s best known and most appreciated names.
