Sarah Wickings is a British artist whose collages capture a unique sense of wonder and nostalgia through clean-cut imagery, clean composition and calming pastel colour palettes. In a style that is minimal yet surreal, her work encapsulates themes of youth, spontaneity and imagination, transporting the viewer into worlds where humans become miniatures upon gigantic foods and objects that almost seem to mimic miniature planets. Every cut made and line drawn is definitive, structured and sharp. The resulting images are both captivating and playful, leaving the viewer with a true feel of escapism.
Since graduating in 2017 from the Arts University Bournemouth, Sarah went on to win the D&AD New Blood Graphic Pencil Award and gained a pass to the International Society of Typographer Designers. Her designs have been commissioned by Liberty London, Imperial College London and Le Parisien Magazine. She has also been featured in Creative Review and her work is featured in the book, Mix and Match: Exploring Contemporary Collage, celebrating collages by 50 artists from around the world.
