Along with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art from Lancaster University, Madeline’s experience in the art industry spans across working in fine art and craft galleries, fine art publishers, curatorial work, and studio practice having exhibited in London, Northern Ireland, and the North West of England and beyond.
Utilising acrylic paint as her chosen medium, working from a foundation of chromatic greys to create realistic base colours, making the addition of colours outside of the primary and white incredibly vibrant. The restricted colour pallet enables Madeline to take the time to mix a more accurate, sophisticated colour. To achieve the classic movie poster-esque appearance, Madeline designs stencils for each text and slogan.
ABOUT THE FRIDAY NIGHT PLANS COLLECTION
The Friday Night Plans Collection originated as a method of self-reflection. To look at our dependencies, the emotions fuelling them, and how these interact with our external presentation. To carefully balance cheeky, joyful, sexy and sophisticated fun, with our darker motivations in the more mundane hours of our day. The choice to present this union in bold colour, focusing on a sophisticated grounding colour with brighter accents through the piece, is to show the fast pace and messy, to the solitude and quiet.
