THE STORY OF THE PHOTOGRAPH:

"This was a session for Joan's third LP, ‘Album’ in 1983, NYC. I had shot the cover for her breakout album, ‘I Love Rock 'n' Roll’, which remains to this day her most famous image and album. Her manager, producer and co-writer, Kenny Laguna decided that they should have me shoot photos for her following record. They already had the front cover image. We did many setups from which they selected one for the back cover. As previously Joan and I worked at an intense pace and produced a bunch of different looks. She was always a delight to work with and was game for whatever I opted to do. To this day she remains one of my all time fave subjects. I always loved this image although it has never been published until now." Mick Rock
