Contact, Merge, Void is a series of two mutli-layered archival pigment prints inspired by Saville’s colourfield paintings featured in the 2018 exhibition, True Colours, at Newport Street Gallery, London. Saville has used the same process to design the compositions of Contact, Merge Void as she does with her paintings. The artist begins by creating layers of colour in Photoshop before overlapping them to create abstracted blends of colour. The title of this series relates to the tools Saville uses on Photoshop but also refers to a greater sense of our galaxy, the vastness of dark matter, star formation and space.
